Five riders for your Tour de Suisse fantasy team

Axel Laurence, is available for 400 credits on the Cycling Fantasy app. For a rider of his quality, and given the shape of the 2026 route, that looks like strong value.

Laurence has shown his class several times already in his career. The 25-year-old Frenchman is also a former U23 World Champion, having attacked with 26 kilometres to go in Glasgow, Scotland.

His skillset fits the opening part of this Tour de Suisse. Laurence can get over short, steep climbs, handle draggy uphill finishes and still finish it off with a fast kick.

His final race before the Tour de Suisse was the Tour de Wallonie at the start of June. He did not quite show the same winning edge he had earlier in the season, although a fourth place on a stage still showed he was in the mix.

We expect Laurence to be a contender in the opening stages of the 2026 Tour de Suisse.

Thibau Nys, returns after a long spell away from road racing following surgery for prepatellar friction syndrome. His last road race came at the Bretagne Classic at the end of August 2025.

At 400 credits, Nys is not a major gamble. Given his talent, he could make an immediate impact if he is close to his usual level.

The Tour de Suisse also carries good memories for Nys. It was the race where he took his second WorldTour victory, winning from a sprint. That came only a few weeks after he had also won a stage in Switzerland at the Tour de Romandie.

That makes Nys our wildcard pick. There is some uncertainty around his form, but the upside is obvious.

Luke Lamperti looks like excellent value at 400 credits. The American has already shown several times in 2026 why he deserves consideration, with strong Classics performances followed by a first WorldTour victory on the opening stage of Paris Nice.

Lamperti will face serious competition from riders such as Jasper Philipsen and Arnaud De Lie. Still, he should be a contender for a high placing on stage 3, while the race situation will decide whether the fast men get a chance on stages 1 and 2.

If you are spending heavily on elite riders such as Tadej Pogačar, you will need value elsewhere in the team. With his ability to score well across several scenarios, Lamperti is worth the investment.

Alessandro Pinarello, did not quite have the Giro d’Italia many expected. The Italian was relatively quiet across the three weeks, apart from a fifth place finish on stage 4.

There had been hopes that Pinarello might follow a similar path to riders such as Derek Gee-West and Marco Frigo, who both used the Giro to build a reputation as breakaway specialists.

Still, Pinarello has shown promise in 2026. He finished 10th overall at Tirreno Adriatico on home roads and also took a general classification podium at O Gran Camiño.

After recovering from the demands of the Giro, we believe Pinarello can show flashes of his potential at the Tour de Suisse. At 200 credits, he is a low cost option with clear upside.

Another Italian to consider is Gianmarco Garofoli. He looks well suited to the opening stages of the Tour de Suisse.

Garofoli has the kick to power over the short climbs near the finish in the first couple of stages, and he is also quick enough to finish the job if he arrives in a reduced group.

He was active throughout the Giro d’Italia, making four breakaways in pursuit of an elusive first Grand Tour stage win. He came close to taking one at the 2025 Giro d’Italia, and that sense of unfinished business remains.

For 400 credits, Garofoli offers real potential. Given the route and his attacking instinct, he could be in position to chase strong stage results at the Tour de Suisse.
