Gasparotto exits Red Bull as Evenepoel move draws closer
The overhaul of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe's management structure continues apace with the team announcing on Friday that Enrico Gasparotto will depart the team after four seasons.

Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe have parted company with directeur sportif Enrico Gasparotto, heightening the sense that the team is undergoing an overhaul ahead of the possible arrival of Remco Evenepoel from Soudal-QuickStep.
Gasparotto’s departure follows that of head of sports Rolf Aldag earlier this week. Like Aldag, the Italian had been at the team since the start of the 2022 season.
Gasparotto made an immediate impression as a directeur sportif, guiding Jai Hindley to overall victory at the 2022 Giro d’Italia.
“Being part of the team has been an exciting opportunity,” Gasparotto said in a statement on Friday. “We worked together in making it one of the most important and successful cycling teams of the world, and will keep all the great memories about the Giro in 2022 and 2024 and the Tour 2025.”
Earlier this week, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe confirmed that Sven Vanthourenhout was joining the team as sports director from August 1. The former Belgian national coach comes on board as a replacement for Aldag. Vanthourenhout guided Evenepoel to World Championships and Olympic victory during his tenure as national coach.
Evenepoel has been heavily linked with a move to Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe even though he remains under contract with Soudal-QuickStep until the end of 2026.
In July, Daniel Benson reported that a deal was “closer than ever” to being finalised, with La Gazzetta dello Sport later reporting that an agreement had been reached, though Red Bull manager Ralph Denk played down the idea when questioned on the reports during the Tour de France.
