Increased time cut for Tour de France stage 13 mountain time trial
Riders will have more breathing room on stage 13’s brutal time trial to Peyragudes, with the time cut extended to 40 percent.

The Tour de France jury has decided to adjust the time cut for the mountain time trial on stage 13.
The 10.9 kilometre time trial to Peyragudes was initially set with a 33% time cut, higher than the usual 25% for an individual time trial. However, concerns from sprinters and weaker climbers prompted the jury to revise the margin to 40%, offering more leeway on the brutal climb.
On Domestique, Dieter Loos explored the implications, noting that a 25% cut could severely shrink the peloton on stage 14. Even 33% would be marginal for many. The 40% threshold now in place gives those riders a better chance of making the time limit.
