Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech) will start his season at the Volta ao Algarve, before targeting a series of one-day races culminating in a sixth appearance at Paris-Roubaix on April 12.

Alpecin-Premier Tech have confirmed that the Belgian sprinter will first pin a number on at the Portuguese stage race, the Volta ao Algarve, on February 18, where he can expect to face competition from the likes of Paul Magnier and Arnaud De Lie in the sprints. Philipsen last rode the Volta ao Algarve back in 2019, racing for UAE Team Emirates as a teammate of Tadej Pogačar, who won the first elite GC of his professional career.

From here, Philipsen will return to more familiar roads, taking on the Opening Weekend double of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, taking place on February 28 and March 1, respectively. It was a happy hunting ground at Opening Weekend for Philipsen twelve months ago as he finished 3rd at Omloop before sprinting to victory at Kuurne.

Revenge will be the aim at Nokere Koerse on March 18, where Philipsen ended in an ambulance in 2025 after a heavy crash under the flamme rouge.

A major target awaits shortly after at Milan-San Remo on March 21, where Alpecin-Premier Tech have dominated in recent years with Philipsen winning in 2024, and Van der Poel in 2023 and 2025.

March will conclude for Philipsen with appearances at two newly-renamed races, Ronde van Brugge, formerly Classic Brugge-De Panne, on March 25, before taking on In Flanders Fields Middelkerke-Wevelgem, formerly Gent-Wevelgem on March 29. Philipsen could move solo into second place in the winners list of the Ronde van Brugge with three victories if he is victorious.

April will begin with Dwars door Vlaanderen on April 1, before another key goal at the race often dubbed as the “sprinters’ world championships”, Scheldeprijs on April 8. Philipsen won in 2021 and 2023, and finished runner-up in the previous two editions.

Finally, Philipsen will conclude his opening block of the 2026 season at Paris-Roubaix on April 12, a race where he and Alpecin-Premier Tech have dominated as well in recent editions.

Philipsen finished runner-up at the Hell of the North behind his teammate Mathieu van der Poel in 2023 and 2024, with Van der Poel completing the hat trick in 2025 whilst Philipsen ended in 11th.
