Kevin Vauquelin’s long-awaited high-profile transfer confirmed

French rising star Kévin Vauquelin will join INEOS Grenadiers on a three-year contract starting in 2026, following a brilliant 2025 season that included a standout performance at the Tour de France.

The 24-year-old, who currently rides for Arkéa–B&B Hotels, has rapidly established himself as one of cycling’s most exciting prospects since turning professional in 2022. He claimed his maiden Tour de France stage victory in Bologna in 2024 from a breakaway.

“I’m extremely proud to join a team like INEOS Grenadiers, which has shaped the history of cycling for over a decade, both in Grand Tours and across the calendar. I’m still in shock,” Vauquelin said in the team’s press release.

His palmarès already includes overall victories at Étoile de Bessèges, thanks to a dominant time trial performance, as well as the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var and the Région Pays de la Loire Tour. He has also twice finished runner-up at La Flèche Wallonne and took second overall at the 2025 Tour de Suisse. At this year’s Tour de France, Vauquelin impressed again with a long stint in the white jersey.

The Frenchman reflected on his Tour de France experiences, describing them as “emotional rollercoasters” that helped him understand his capabilities. “In 2024, I went from a tough moment on the first stage to immense joy on the second day when I won in Bologna,” he said. “Even now, I think I’ve experienced something completely wild, and I’m proud of myself.”

Vauquelin also acknowledged the importance of his current team in his development as a young rider. “Arkéa–B&B Hotels will always be important to me. It’s the team where I turned pro, where they trusted me and gave me responsibility. I was able to thrive and learn my job in a calm environment.”

Looking ahead to joining the British outfit in 2026, Vauquelin expressed his enthusiasm for the next chapter of his career. “I’m really excited to discover a new environment, new teammates, new equipment and a new way of working with the staff. For me, it’s the logical next step in my career to continue progressing and explore new horizons.”

Sir Dave Brailsford praised the young rider’s qualities and potential. “Not only is he a punchy rider who knows how to win, but at this year’s Tour I was impressed to see him add a new dimension to his racing. He rides with intelligence and ambition, qualities that fit perfectly with the Grenadiers,” Brailsford said. “We believe his best years are ahead of him and we’re excited to help him realise his potential.”
