Lotto-Intermarché and Intermarché-Lotto? Why there will be two names in 2026
The merger between Lotto and Intermarché Wanty is now complete, with the new organisation confirmed for the WorldTour in 2026 and a ProTeam license on the women's side. Yet an interesting detail is not the sporting structure but the branding according to Het Nieuwsblad. Depending on the country, the same squad will appear either as Lotto-Intermarché or as Intermarché-Lotto, with different jerseys to match.

In most markets the team will line up as Lotto-Intermarché, reflecting the shared Belgian roots of the project. France, Poland and Portugal are the exception. There the squad will race under the Intermarché-Lotto name and will use slightly adapted kits that put the supermarket brand more clearly in front.
The dual identity is a direct result of how the sponsors are positioned in their key territories and marks one of the more unusual naming solutions in the modern WorldTour.
The naming news follows a period of uncertainty about how Intermarché would be positioned within the merged structure. The French head office has now underlined its commitment to the project, which is reflected in the decision to use different naming hierarchies in key markets.
Thierry Cotillard, president of the Groupement Mousquetaires umbrella organisation, explained the decision in conversation with Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
“By signing this partnership we are writing a new chapter in our history within the world of cycling.”
For Cotillard, the project also fits the values the brand wants to express on the road.
“This sport is above all a story of solidarity and of team spirit. But it is also about proximity, between our riders, the fans and our customers, all along the route of the WorldTour circuit and in particular in France, Belgium, Portugal and Poland, where we are present. I would like to wish the new Lotto Intermarché all the very best, and hopefully many podium finishes as a result.”
The new Lotto-Intermarché has also announced its roster for next season. In total 30 riders are part of the squad, with Arnaud De Lie and Jarno Widar among the standout names.
