Luke Durbridge announces retirement, ending an era for Jayco-AlUla
The last remaining rider from the original 2012 GreenEdge roster has confirmed that he will retire after the Australian Championships next January. Durbridge made the announcement after he completed his 11th and final Paris-Roubaix on Thursday.

Luke Durbridge has confirmed that 2026 will be his final season in the professional peloton, with the Australian set to retire after the national championships next January.
Jayco-AlUla announced Durbridge’s decision after he completed his 11th and final Paris-Roubaix on Sunday. The 35-year-old has spent his entire professional career with GreenEdge, joining the team ahead of its inaugural season in 2012.
“It’s the last one for me, that’s for sure,” Durbridge said of Paris-Roubaix in a video released by his team.
“It’s been an honour to race this race and I’m just really happy to be in the velodrome. I’m just really proud of myself to get here. It’s a bit emotional.”
Durbridge showcased his talent as a rouleur from an early age, claiming time trial world titles as a junior in Moscow in 2009 and as an under-23 in Copenhagen in 2011. He scored six wins in his debut pro season, including the Circuit de la Sarthe, the Tour du Poitou-Charentes and the prologue of the Critérium du Dauphiné.
The Western Australian would go become a mainstay of GreenEdge’s Classics squad, and he fell just short of the podium at Dwars door Vlaanderen and E3 Harelbeke in 2017. He was also a key domestique across the calendar, riding the Tour de France eleven times.
Durbridge continued to weigh in with victories, including four Australian time trial titles. He was Australian road champion in 2013 and again in 2025, while he also claimed the Oceania Championships road race in 2014.
His retirement marks the end of an era for Jayco-AlUla, as Durbridge is the last remaining member of the original 2012 roster after his contemporary Michael Hepburn retired at the end of last season.
