Matteo Jorgenson ‘handles’ Campenaerts contract talks and lands unusual bonus
Victor Campenaerts will remain with Visma | Lease a Bike until the end of 2028 after agreeing a new deal with the Dutch squad.

The 34-year-old still had another season left on his existing contract, but Visma have moved early to secure his services for an additional year. Campenaerts has developed into one of the team’s most valuable support riders, capable of playing an important role across different types of races.
Visma announced the extension on Saturday morning with a lighthearted video featuring Matteo Jorgenson, who has regularly appeared alongside Campenaerts in his race vlogs.
Filming from the United States, Jorgenson joked that he had taken charge of his teammate’s contract negotiations after previously promising Campenaerts he would handle his next deal.
The American then revealed that he had supposedly negotiated an extra incentive into the agreement.
“I even got you a bonus if we win Paris-Nice together again,” Jorgenson told Campenaerts, before joking that he had also included a five percent commission for himself.
Campenaerts responded with a smile, saying he was now curious to find out whether the bonus actually existed.
