Mikel Landa shaken by high-speed crash but completes Itzulia stage
The 36-year-old Spanish rider crashed heavily on the descent from the penultimate climb, but was able to continue and reach the finish.

Landa was in one of the chasing groups behind the untouchable Paul Seixas at the moment of the crash. The home rider went down at high speed on a straight section during the descent of the San Miguel de Aralar, remaining on the ground in visible pain prompting immediate concern.
Despite the severity of the fall, he eventually got back on his bike and completed the stage, crossing the line in 67th place, more than thirteen minutes behind Seixas.
His team, Soudal Quick-Step, posted an uptate on sociale media after the race. "Unfortunately, inside the last 10 km, Mikel crashed on a descent. He will undergo further examinations - updates to follow."
The crash follows a 2025 season in which he also suffered a heavy fall at the Giro d'Italia, sustaining a fractured vertebra that kept him sidelined for a long period and only allowed him to return to racing at the Vuelta a Burgos in August.
