Paul Magnier commits long-term future to Soudal-QuickStep
The French rider has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the team until the end of the 2029 season. News of the agreement comes after Soudal announced that it would continue its title sponsorship for the next five years.

Paul Magnier has committed his future to Soudal-QuickStep after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the team until the end of the 2029 season. The Frenchman’s existing contract had been due to expire at the end of 2027.
Soudal-QuickStep announced the news during their media day in Calpe on Thursday, when it was also revealed that Soudal had extended its title sponsorship until the end of 2030. The two extensions come as a considerable boost to a Soudal-QuickStep squad that is undergoing a rebuilding process following Remco Evenepoel’s transfer to Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe.
“It was super important for me to feel the team is confident in me, and I’m also really confident in what the team can give me,” Magnier said during the team presentation. “This is why I signed a longer contract. I’m really proud about it. I’ll try to grow as fast as possible and win the biggest races in the world in the future.”
Magnier turned professional with Soudal-QuickStep in 2024, and he enjoyed a remarkable purple patch in the latter part of the 2025 campaign. He won 19 races in total last season, including stage wins at the Tour de Pologne and Tour of Guangxi, and he also placed second at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.
His rapid finish and his potential in the Classics have led to inevitable comparisons with a young Tom Boonen. With Soudal-QuickStep returning its focus to the Classics in 2026, Magnier is set to be a central figure in the squad’s future.
“His results speak for themselves, but just as important is his mindset and his willingness to learn, grow and lead within the team,” said Soudal-QuickStep CEO Jurgen Foré. “Extending his contract was a clear and confident decision for us. Paul represents a key pillar of our future, and we are excited to continue developing and winning together over the long term.”
Magnier is set to start his 2026 season at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, and he will also ride the Volta ao Algarve ahead of the cobbled Classics campaign. Last month, Magnier indicated that he would not make his Tour de France debut in 2026, and it is instead expected that he will return to the Giro d’Italia.
