Paul Seixas no longer the youngest rider in the 2026 WorldTour
Paul Seixas loses his status as the youngest rider in the WorldTour. The Frenchman, still only 19, now makes way for Mattia Agostinacchio, the 18-year-old world junior cyclocross champion who has signed a long-term contract with EF Education-EasyPost for 2026 and beyond.

Agostinacchio, from Aosta in northern Italy, will already wear EF’s pink colors this winter as part of the team’s new cyclocross project.
The allrounder, who started in mountain biking before switching to cyclocross and road racing, is known for his explosive power. “EF Education-EasyPost is the perfect team for me,” he said. “They’re very strong in developing young riders. I want to improve on the bike but also enjoy the process.”
Head of scouting Sebastian Langeveld sees the young Italian primarily as a future road rider but believes his background in cyclocross will help his development. “He still has everything to prove, but at youth level he was exceptional across all disciplines,” Langeveld said to Wielerflits. “We hope he will grow into a strong classics rider. He’s still very young, and we believe cyclocross can help him develop in the right way. There are plenty of examples where that combination works.”
EF CEO Jonathan Vaughters praised his new signing. “He learned English from YouTube and TikTok, and that impressed me. When he races, he picks one climb or one moment and just explodes. That kind of natural power is rare.” Agostinacchio will split his time between the EF Education-Aevolo development team and selected WorldTour races in 2026.
Seixas, who turned 19 earlier this year, was the youngest rider in the WorldTour during the 2025 season. That distinction now passes to Agostinacchio, just 18 years and 110 days old. In total, eight riders under the age of 20 will race in the WorldTour next season, including Albert Withen Philipsen and Jakob Omrzel alongside Seixas and Agostinacchio.
