The 2026 Tour de France has reached its second rest day, with Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates-XRG still atop the general classification as well as the prize money standings.

The world champion has added another two stage wins in week two, and continued to lead the general and mountains classifications throughout, taking his prize money earnings to €72,290.

That is more than double the amount of the rider with the second-highest prize money total, Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step), who has earned €36,100, after completing a hat-trick of stage wins on stage 12. The Belgian sprinter won't be adding to his prize money tally in week three after abandoning the race on stage 15.

Fellow week one stage winners Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek), Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM) also remain in the top five.

Meanwhile, Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) has risen into the top ten after a strong week that culminated in him winning stage 15 atop Plateau de Solaison and moving into second overall.

Tour de France prize money

The 2026 Tour de France offers a total prize pool of €2.3 million, spread across all aspects of the race - from overall standings and stage victories to jersey classifications, team rankings and daily awards. The overall winner takes home €500,000, with each stage win earning €11,000 and the yellow jersey wearer collecting a €500 bonus each day.

Full breakdown of prize money

UAE Team Emirates-XRG naturally lead the team standings for prize money won with €124,530,00, which is more than double Lidl-Trek in second with €58,400,00.

Soudal Quick-Step and Decathlon CMA CGM have also earned over €40,000,00 with €43,890,00 and €41,560,00 respectively.

Visma | Lease a Bike sits fifth with €37,050,00, though will have to tackle the third and final week without Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike), who has accrued the most prize money for the team so far.

Picnic PostNL sit bottom of the team standings with €5,270.00 earned across the 15 stages so far.
