Pogacar tops spring earnings, Van Aert lands biggest payday

After another dominant classics campaign, Tadej Pogačar once again leads the spring prize money standings. According to figures compiled by Sporza, the world champion collected €99,000 across a condensed but highly productive schedule, winning four of his five races.

Still, the biggest single cheque of the spring did not go to Pogačar. That honour belongs to Wout van Aert, whose victory at Paris-Roubaix earned him €30,000, the highest payout from any race this spring.

Pogačar’s most lucrative result came in a race he did not win. His second place at Paris-Roubaix brought in €22,000, more than any of his victories. As always in cycling, that amount is shared with teammates.

Behind him, Mathieu van der Poel ranks second overall with €72,500. His win at the E3 Saxo Classic proved the most valuable in his tally. Van Aert completes the top three with €45,900.

Further down the list, Paul Seixas stands out among the names near the top. The young Frenchman collected €34,750 through his performances in Strade Bianche, Flèche Wallone and Liège–Bastogne–Liège.

At team level, UAE Team Emirates-XRG leads the standings with €126,755, largely driven by Pogačar’s results. Alpecin-Premier Tech follows with €111,770, while Visma | Lease a Bike sits third on €82,815.

It is worth noting that prize money in cycling does not work the same way as in many other sports. Earnings are typically pooled and shared across the team, rather than kept by the rider who crosses the line first.
