Video: Pogacar turns Del Toro’s Tour win into a Mexican celebration
Tadej Pogacar did not take the yellow jersey in Barcelona, but he still managed to own the moment. After helping teammate Isaac Del Toro to a breakthrough victory on stage 2 of the Tour de France, the world champion celebrated with Mexican fans, draping himself in their flag and leading the chants in joyful scenes shared by UAE Team Emirates- XRG.

Del Toro delivered a stunning finish on the Montjuïc circuit, holding off the elite GC group to take the win ahead of Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel. Jonas Vingegaard finished fourth and defended the yellow jersey, though his lead over Pogačar was cut to six seconds after a tense finale in Barcelona.
For Pogačar, it was also a subtle show of strength. Rather than sprinting for the win himself, he appeared content to let Del Toro take the spotlight, a gesture that underlined both UAE’s depth and the world champion’s confidence.
