Red Bull make move for Paul Magnier as French star makes future clear
According to L'Équipe, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe have explored the possibility of signing Paul Magnier, but the French sprinter has made clear that he sees his future at Soudal Quick-Step.

The 22-year-old has been on Red Bull's radar for several months, with the team making contact through his agent despite Magnier having a contract with Soudal Quick-Step until the end of 2029.
Red Bull are looking to broaden a squad that has been heavily geared towards Grand Tour ambitions. After adding Remco Evenepoel, the German team is also seeking more firepower for the Classics and bunch sprints, making Magnier an obvious target.
Magnier, however, has little appetite for a move.
“I feel very good at Soudal Quick-Step, I have a very good lead-out and I always have someone to control the race,” Magnier told L'Équipe. “Red Bull are building a big team but I trust Quick-Step 100%. They trust me. With Jürgen Foré, we are trying to build a team around me for the Classics and the sprints.”
His commitment comes after another major step forward in 2026.
Magnier has collected eight victories this season, continuing the momentum of a remarkable 19 win campaign in 2025. More importantly, he has shown that his success can translate to cycling's biggest races.
His debut Giro d'Italia became a breakthrough Grand Tour performance. Magnier won three stages, took the pink jersey after winning the opening stage and remained competitive throughout the three weeks before securing the points classification in Rome.
