Remco Evenepoel commits long term future to Specialized with lifetime deal
Remco Evenepoel has formalised one of the closest partnerships in the peloton, announcing a lifetime agreement with Specialized that will extend beyond his racing career.

The Belgian, now riding for Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, has been on Specialized bikes since the earliest days of his professional journey. That continuity, he says, made the decision straightforward.
“Since I started riding the bike, I was on Specialized bikes, and Specialized material in general,” Evenepoel said in an announcement video by the brand. “I just feel good on the bike, feel very happy and familiar with the people.”
The agreement goes further than a traditional equipment deal. Evenepoel confirmed that the partnership will continue after he retires, effectively tying his long term future to the brand.
“We actually made an agreement forever,” he said. “I have an agreement now as a rider till the last day of my career, and then after that, we keep working together.”
Specialized’s influence has also played a role in his career decisions. When exploring team options, Evenepoel made it clear that staying with the brand was non-negotiable.
“When I go to speak with a team, it’s: you have to bring in Specialized or you’re not getting me,” he said.
At the core of the partnership is a shared focus on performance according to the Belgian. Evenepoel pointed to the close collaboration with Specialized staff, from bike fitting to testing, as a key part of his development.
“Everybody has the same mindset: we have to make the rider better,” he explained. “Whenever I do testing or a bike fit, I’m really driven by the winning feeling. I think that’s something we share.”
Evenepoel joined Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe ahead of the 2026 season after leaving Soudal Quick Step, with the ability to remain on Specialized equipment understood to be a decisive factor in the move.
This Sunday, Remco Evenepoel will line up at Liege-Bastogne-Liege for what is expected to be a high profile clash with Tadej Pogacar and French prodigy Paul Seixas.
