The Slovenian was spotted in a team-issue UAE jersey and shorts while training with his partner Urska Zigart near his hometown of Komenda in Slovenia. Another video captured him riding in the UAE colours alongside Italy's Marco Frigo, who will join UAE for the 2027 season.

Pogačar last wore UAE's red, black and white colours when he won the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal on September 14, 2024. He went on to win the world title in Zurich two weeks later to pull on the rainbow jersey and then kept the iconic jersey for a further 12 months thanks to his dominant victory in Rwanda in 2025.

Pogačar's crash at the Vuelta a Espana meant he was unable to defend his world and European titles this year. He rode in the rainbow jersey for the last time on his first ride outdoors following his collarbone and vertebrae fractures. UAE teammate Brandon McNulty went on to win in Montreal, ensuring the rainbow jersey stayed in the team.

Pogačar rode in the European champions' jersey for a last time at the weekend while in Slovenia, before Remco Evenepoel won the elite men's race on Sunday and pulled on the blue and white jersey. Pogačar occasionally wore a 'Please do not disturb' jersey to avoid being disturbed by fans but always stood out on the peloton due to the rainbow jersey.

Pogačar will race in the team-issue UAE colours in 2027, whenever he is not wearing a race leader's jersey, and at least until the Super World Championships in Sallanches, France on August 29.
