Simon Yates (Visma | Lease a Bike) rode into Rome as the winner of the 2025 Giro d’Italia on Sunday, finally conquering the pink jersey that he had coveted for so long. The Briton forged his victory with a daring attack on the Colle delle Finestre on the penultimate day, making amends for his heartbreak on the same climb in 2018.

Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), so impressive across the three weeks, conceded the maglia rosa there, eventually taking second overall at 3:56. Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) looked the most likely challenger ahead of the final weekend, but the Ecuadorian had to settle for third overall at 4:43.

Derek Gee (Israel Premier Tech) impressed en route to fourth place overall ahead of the evergreen Damiano Caruso (Bahrain Victorious), while Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) produced his best Grand Tour since his horrific 2022 training crash to take seventh overall.

Other stand-out performers across the three weeks included Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek), who won four stages and the points classification, and Wout van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike), who won the gravel stage into Siena and then produced an MVP display to help Yates claim pink at the last.
