Tour de France stage 2 start delayed
Traffic jams and rainy conditions have seen a delay to the start of proceedings for stage 2 of the Tour de France.

The start of stage 2 of the Tour de France has been delayed by 15 minutes due to rainy conditions and issues with teams accessing the starting location.
Traffic jams have seen many teams unable to arrive to the official sign-on in time for the start of the stage, and the race organisers acknowledged it by officially announcing a delayed start of 15 mins.
Originally scheduled to begin at 12:15 (CET), the riders will now take off from Lauwin-Planque at 12:30 (CET). In store is the longest stage of the entire 2025 Tour, a hilly 209.1 kilometre route which features over 2,300 metres of climbing and a testing finish. The riders will now have an added element of rainy conditions to contend with on what could turn out to be a difficult stage. You can read Domestique's preview for stage 2 by clicking here.
