UAE remain Giro’s top earners despite Vingegaard’s wins and pink jersey
After two weeks of racing at the Giro d’Italia, it is still the Emirati team that leads the prize-money standings.

Giro 2026 prize money
The 2026 Giro d'Italia offers a total prize pool of approximately €1.6 million, spread across all aspects of the race, from overall standings and stage victories to jersey classifications, team rankings and daily awards.
The overall winner takes home €115,668 with each stage win paying out €11,010 and the maglia rosa wearer collecting a €2,000 bonus each day. In keeping with cycling tradition, the prize money is usually shared among teams, reflecting the sport's collective spirit.
It's the third rest day of the 2026 Giro d’Italia. The peloton is recovering from the hard stage to Pila on Saturday and bracing for what's still to come in the third week.
While the leader’s jersey passed from Afonso Eulálio to Jonas Vingegaard during the second week, UAE still lead the prize-money standings, driven by Jonathan Narváez, who has already taken three stage wins and remains one of the favourites in the points classification heading into a brutal third week.
So far, UAE have earned €67,299, followed by XDS Astana Team, who are enjoying a dream Giro thanks to stage victories from Thomas Silva, Davide Ballerini and Alberto Bettiol.
Third in the ranking are Soudal Quick-Step on €57,772, still largely benefiting from the strong Giro start made by Frenchman Paul Magnier.
The top five is completed by Bahrain-Victorious in fourth with €57,337, boosted by their success with Afonso Eulálio and Alec Segaert’s stage win. Visma | Lease a Bike sit fifth with €56,193, a total built almost entirely on Jonas Vingegaard’s three stage wins and his position in the various classifications.
Of course, the biggest shifts in the ranking are still to come, with the prize money from the final classifications, where the largest sums are awarded, yet to be paid out.
At the bottom of the prize-money standings are Lotto-Intermarché, Team Jayco AlUla, Unibet Rose Rockets and Alpecin-Premier Tech, with Picnic PostNL sitting last.
