Video: The pure joy of Davide Bramati after Magnier's hat-trick

Paul Magnier completed his Giro d’Italia hat-trick on stage 18, and few enjoyed it more than Soudal Quick-Step sports director Davide Bramati.

The Frenchman sprinted to his third victory of the race after a tense and demanding finale, capping off another superb team performance from Soudal Quick-Step. In the team car, Bramati’s reaction said it all.

The Italian, never one to hide his emotions, erupted in celebration as Magnier crossed the line, producing another memorable moment from one of the sport’s most passionate figures.

Magnier’s win came after a finale that was far from straightforward for the sprinters. The early breakaway, featuring Mattia Bais, Andrea Mifsud, James Shaw and Jonas Geens, was brought back before the decisive Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, where the steep gradients split the bunch and briefly put several fast men under pressure.

Soudal Quick-Step kept their composure in the closing kilometres, bringing the late moves back before Jasper Stuyven guided Magnier into position. From there, the Frenchman finished the job, sealing his third stage win of the Giro and strengthening his grip on the maglia ciclamino.
