Visma | Lease a Bike complete roster with French talent Louis Barré
Team Visma | Lease a Bike have completed the roster with the signing of 25-year old Louis Barré, who joins after spending the 2025 season at Intermarché-Wanty.

Louis Barré enjoyed a strong 2025 season, with a number of top placed finishes, including sixth at the Amstel Gold Race and third on a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné from the breakaway. That stage was won by Spaniard Iván Romeo.
In the announcement of his transfer, Barré outlined: “The team’s story and the plans they have really convinced me,” said Barré. “Team Visma | Lease a Bike is one of the best teams in the world, and I believe that with the support and structure here I can make significant progress. The team is innovative in every area: nutrition, equipment, training camps, and more. I want to challenge myself, and I think this is where I can become the best version of myself.”
There was one area Barré highlighted where he wants to keep performing while also improving: “I want to keep focusing on the hilly classics because that’s where I perform best. But I’m also looking forward to improving in week long stage races and supporting the best general classification riders in the world when they fight for victory.”
Barré is Team Visma | Lease a Bike's ninth and final signing for the 2026 season, joining Davide Piganzoli, his compatriot Bruno Armirail, Filippo Fiorelli, Owain Doull, Timo Kielich and Anton Schiffer, as well as development team graduates Tim Rex and Pietro Mattio.
Head of Racing Grischa Niermann said of the signing: “Louis caught our eye during the tougher one day races. He achieved some great results there, and he also showed himself in the Dauphiné,” said Niermann. “He is still relatively young and has good potential for growth. We believe he can continue to develop within our team and see him as a strong addition to our lineup for the demanding hilly classics.”
Barré came through UC Nantes Atlantique, spending several years with the team from the junior ranks before turning professional with Team Arkéa Samsic in 2022. He spent three seasons there before moving to Intermarché Wanty, where he made his Tour de France debut in 2025.
