Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 18 - Almeida gains time on Vingegaard in time trial

Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) defends the red jersey of the Vuelta a España after stage 18’s individual time trial in Valladolid, which was won by Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) but loses some seconds to João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).

Vingegaard leads Almeida by 40 seconds after the Portuguese rider finished 10 seconds faster than the Dane in the time trial.

Meanwhile, Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) remains in 3rd with his advantage over Jai Hindley (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) three seconds stronger, now 2:39 behind Vingegaard, with Hindley at 3:18

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) holds a convincing lead in the points classification, while Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) remains king of the mountains with 20 points in hand on Vingegaard after a strong time trial performance.

Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-BORA hansgrohe) is the best young rider with a lead of 58 seconds over Matthew Riccitello (Israel-Premier Tech)
