Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 2
Jonas Vingegaard is the new overall leader after winning the second stage of the Vuelta a España after the uphill finish at Limone Piemonte on Sunday.

After the stage one sprint finish, it was the turn of those riders better suited to the climbs as the race travelled the 159.5km between Alba and the first uphill finish at Limone Piemonte.
Pre-race favourite Jonas Vingegaard Visma | Lease a Bike) lived up to his re-race favourite's billing by out-sprinting Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) in a tight uphill finish. The two riders finished neck and neck with David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) in third. The three men are in the same positions on GC.
Vingegaard was caught in a crash on wet roads around 25km from the line, making his string finish even more impressive.
