Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 9 - Træen makes it to rest day in red
It was the wet final stage before the rest day, but Træen managed to hold on to red.

Torstein Træen (Bahrain-Victorious) successfully defended his red jersey on the slopes to Valdezcaray to make it to the first rest day as the race leader of the Vuelta a España.
The Norwegian's advantage was trimmed significantly by a rampant Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) on stage 9.
Træen now leads Vingegaard by 37 seconds with João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) in 3rd at 1:15. Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) moves up to 4th in the overall standings at 1:35 after finishing 2nd on the stage with an exceptional ride.
