Tour de France young riders classification winners: full list (1953–2024)

Since 1975, the Tour de France has recognized the race’s best young rider with the white jersey (maillot blanc in French). This prize is awarded to the top finisher in the general classification under the age of 26 on January 1st of the race year.

Over nearly five decades, 50 white jerseys have been awarded – from inaugural honoree Francesco Moser to the latest prodigy, Remco Evenepoel – underscoring how the competition often heralds future champions (several white jersey winners, such as Laurent Fignon, Jan Ullrich, Alberto Contador, Andy Schleck, Egan Bernal and Tadej Pogačar, later won the Tour themselves). A total of 15 nations have celebrated a white jersey winner, with France leading the way at eight titles. The Netherlands and Spain follow closely, each having produced five riders who topped the young rider classification.
