Irish champion Rory Townsend (Q36.5) pulled off the biggest win of his career at the ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg, holding off the peloton after spending the day in the breakaway. Townsend attacked from distance in the final sprint to drop Nelson Oliveira and Johan Jacobs, before resisting the charge of Arnaud De Lie (Lotto) and Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck). De Lie took second, with Philipsen third.
