Brabantse Pijl 2026
17.04
Brabantse Pijl seemed destined to be decided by a dangerous late breakaway, but a well organised chase from the peloton brought the front group back just before the final ascent of the S Bocht, setting up a tense finale in which Anders Foldager stayed patient and timed his sprint to perfection on the climb to secure the biggest victory of his career.

Route
The Brabantse Pijl route covers 162 kilometres from Beersel to Overijse and features 21 categorised climbs. After a rolling opening phase, the race intensifies on a local circuit of nearly 20 kilometres, tackled three times.
Key climbs such as the cobbled Hertstraat and Moskesstraat are steep, narrow, and highly selective, while the Holstheide adds further fatigue. The finale is defined by the S Bocht in Overijse, a twisting uphill drag that often decides the race. With its mix of punchy climbs, cobbles, and technical run in, the course favours explosive riders who can both attack and sprint.

Favourites
The 2026 edition features a deep and open field. Mauro Schmid arrives in top form and has the engine to go solo, while Romain Grégoire leads a strong Groupama FDJ team with his punch and sprint. Andreas Kron is a key contender if he rediscovers consistency.
Teams like EF Education-EasyPost and Lotto-Intermaché bring multiple options, making tactics crucial. Maximilian Schachmann could be a major factor if fully recovered, while outsiders such as Tibor Del Grosso and Quinten Hermans add unpredictability.
