Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969

The Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana, officially titled the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 Gran Premio Valencia, is an annual one day road race held in Spain’s Valencian Community. Between 1981 and 2005, it was run under the name Trofeo Luis Puig.
History of the race
The race was first organised in 1969 as the Gran Premio de Valencia. In 1981 it was renamed to honour Luis Puig, who served as president of the Union Cycliste Internationale from 1981 to 1990. The final edition under the Trofeo Luis Puig name took place in 2005, when the event held UCI 1.1 status and featured in the inaugural UCI Europe Tour. The race returned to the calendar in January 2021 under its current name, re-entering the UCI Europe Tour as a 1.2 event.
Who has won the race the most?
Noël Dejonckheere (1981, 1983, 1984) and Erik Zabel (1997, 2000, 2001) are the recordholders with both 3 wins.
