Route
The 2026 edition of Eschborn-Frankfurt has been given a tougher edge, with both distance and climbing increased compared to last year. The race now stretches beyond 211 kilometres and features around 3,300 metres of elevation.
New to the route is the Sandplacken, while the Feldberg and Burgweg return in repeated sequences. The key change comes with the Mammolshain, which will be climbed twice late in the race, likely creating decisive gaps.
A tightly packed section of climbs from around 110 kilometres to go marks the hardest phase. After the final ascent, the road flattens out towards Frankfurt, where the familiar finishing circuit awaits.
Favourites
Tobias Lund Andresen heads into Eschborn Frankfurt as one of the standout fast finishers after a strong spring. The Dane has been consistently near the front, with wins in the Tour Down Under, Tirreno-Adriatico and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, as well as a second place in Gent-Wevelgem.
The tougher course could also favour more aggressive riders. Tom Pidcock looks an obvious candidate, especially after showing good form in the Tour of the Alps, despite bad luck in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Expect his team to push the pace on the climbs to avoid a sprint.
Riders such as Ben Tulett, Pello Bilbao, Tim Wellens and Søren Kragh Andersen also fit that profile, while Axel Laurance is one to watch.
Among the faster men, Magnus Cort and Laurence Pithie could still feature, while Tibor Del Grosso stands out as an outsider after an impressive spring.
