Route
The 22.1 kilometre time trial starts and finishes in Šenčur and features 367 metres of climbing. The opening kilometres are relatively flat, allowing the strongest time trial specialists to quickly find their rhythm. The road then gradually rises towards Olševek before the decisive section begins near Tupaliče. Here, the riders tackle the steep climb towards Možjanca, where significant gaps could emerge.
After the summit, a narrow and technical descent will put bike handling skills to the test. The course then flattens through Cerklje na Gorenjskem, before a fast final seven kilometres turns the race into a pure test of power and pacing.

Favourites
Stefan Küng (Switzerland) is a top contender looking to reclaim his 2020 and 2021 titles, arriving in great form after bouncing back from a broken femur to win time trial stages at both the Tour de Pologne and Vuelta a España.
Primož Roglič looks like one of his biggest challengers, leading the host nation as a former Olympic champion with five top-ten time trial finishes this season, and he will look to exploit the Možjanca climb with fresh legs. Jakob Söderqvist (Sweden) is another major medal contender, highly motivated after a late crash at the World Championships scuppered his bronze medal position and forced him to settle for fifth
Kasper Asgreen and Mikkel Bjerg (Denmark) could benefit from their respective strengths, with Asgreen using his Classics power and Bjerg driven by consecutive fourth-place finishes at the Euros.
Ethan Hayter and Callum Thornley (Great Britain) are dangerous outsiders leading a fresh British squad that skipped the road race to focus entirely on this event. Jan Tratnik, Bruno Armirail, Iván Romeo, Mattia Cattaneo, Ilan Van Wilder, and Nelson Oliveira are also capable of challenging for a strong result on this hilly course.
