Demi Vollering claimed the European title in Guilherand-Granges with a dominant solo attack from 39km out. After setbacks at the Tour de France Femmes and the World Championships, she seized control on the Côte de Saint-Romain-de-Lerps and left her rivals behind. Kasia Niewiadoma took silver, Anna van der Breggen bronze. Vollering ended her season with her first title in Dutch colours.
