The 2026 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec takes place on Friday 11 September and is the first race of the Canadian WorldTour double. Two days before Montréal, the peloton takes on Québec City’s punchy circuit, where shorter climbs and an uphill finish create chances for puncheurs, strong sprinters and late attackers.

Route
Québec’s 206 kilometre course is built around repetition rather than one decisive climb. The city circuit winds through the old town, with the Côte de la Montagne providing the sharpest test before the Saint Louis and George VI climbs lead into the uphill finish on the Plains of Abraham.
Changes introduced in 2025 removed several late ascents and made the race longer, creating a route that rewards durability as much as climbing ability. With around 2,800 metres of elevation, Québec is less demanding than Montréal and gives strong sprinters and puncheurs a genuine chance to survive and contest the victory.

Favourites
Remco Evenepoel starts as one of the main favourites, supported by Maxim Van Gils, who gives Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe another option for both attacks and a sprint. Isaac del Toro arrives in excellent form, while Brandon McNulty adds experience and another winning threat for UAE Team Emirates-XRG.
Tom Pidcock, Giulio Ciccone and Juan Ayuso are dangerous if the race becomes selective late on. For a reduced sprint, Dorian Godon and Paul Lapeira look especially well suited. Michael Matthews remains impossible to ignore, with three victories in Québec and a remarkable record of finishing near the front here regularly.
