Omloop Nieuwsblad Women 2026 - Race results
28.02
Demi Vollering (FDJ United-Suez) claimed victory at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad for the first time in her career by outsprinting Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto) after they had escaped on the Muur van Geraardsbergen.
Route
The opening kilometres ease the bunch out of Gent before the road gradually sharpens across the cobbles and bergs of Flanders. Familiar names return to shape the race, including the Wolvenberg, Molenberg and Berendries, each capable of thinning the peloton and forcing teams to show their hand.
The key change comes in the final third. After the Berendries, with 33.5 kilometres remaining, riders now face two additional climbs, Tenbosse and Parikeberg. Their inclusion toughens the approach to the finale and reduces the chance of regrouping before the decisive moments.
From there, the race heads to Geraardsbergen and the iconic pairing of the Muur van Geraardsbergen and the Bosberg. The Muur delivers a steep cobbled test that often fractures what remains of the front group, while the Bosberg offers a longer drag where final selections are made.
After cresting the Bosberg, only 11.8 flat kilometres remain to the line in Ninove. Whether it ends in a reduced sprint or a late solo move will depend on how deeply the new climbs have reshaped the race before the Muur.
