Paris-Tours 2025

12.10

Matteo Trentin claimed a dramatic victory at Paris-Tours 2025 after catching the late breakaway inside the final kilometre. French duo Paul Lapeira and Thibaud Gruel saw their chances slip away when they hesitated, allowing a select chase group to close in. Trentin used his experience and sprinting instinct to take his first win in over a year, ahead of Christophe Laporte and Albert Withen Philipsen.

What we said beforehand

Paris–Tours returns on 12 October 2025 for its 119th edition, closing out the European road season in the Loire Valley. Once known as the sprinters’ classic, the race has evolved in recent years, with gravel sectors and short climbs transforming the flat run into Tours into a far more unpredictable finale. It remains one of cycling’s oldest one-day races, and a final chance for the classics specialists to add a prestigious victory to their palmarès.
