Strade Bianche 2022
05.03
Strade Bianche, first held in 2007, has rapidly become one of cycling’s most iconic modern classics, defined by its white gravel roads and the rolling Tuscan landscape. Its a mix of steep climbs, technical sterrato sectors and constant changes in tempo has created a race suited to powerful puncheurs and all rounders, with winners such as Fabian Cancellara, Michał Kwiatkowski and Mathieu van der Poel helping elevate its prestige. The dramatic uphill finish in Siena’s Piazza del Campo has already earned legendary status, turning Strade Bianche into a must-watch early season spectacle and a race many believe deserves full monument status.
