Route
The 2026 Vuelta a Burgos covers 842 kilometres across five stages, with climbing opportunities from the opening day. Stage one ends on the short, steep Alto del Castillo in Burgos, before a longer summit finish at Pineda de la Sierra.
Stage three is the hardest day, crossing seven classified climbs, including Estacas de Trueba and Puerto del Escudo, before finishing at Balneario de Corconte.
Stage four offers the best chance for sprinters in Briviesca. The race concludes with a demanding mountain stage to Lagunas de Neila, where Alto de Rozavientos and the final ascent should decide the overall classification battle.

Favourites
With defending champion Isaac del Toro absent and Primož Roglič withdrawing after a training accident, the race has an open field. Félix Gall, second at the 2026 Giro d’Italia, stands out as a leading favourite on the mountainous route.
Giulio Ciccone, Carlos Rodríguez, Enric Mas and Mikel Landa bring proven climbing pedigree, while Pello Bilbao offers experience and consistency.
UAE Team Emirates-XRG may have the deepest squad, led by Jay Vine and former winner Pavel Sivakov.
