Over in Switzerland, the Tour de Suisse delivered drama. In the men’s race, João Almeida lived up to his favourite status with a strong comeback after early time loss. In the women’s edition, Marlen Reusser edged out pre-race favourite Demi Vollering in a thrilling battle decided by seconds.
Elsewhere, the inaugural edition of the Copenhagen Sprint brought high-speed racing to the city centre, with Jordi Meeus and Lorena Wiebes taking the victories in front of packed crowds.
June also meant national pride - with a host of new champions crowned across Europe, fresh jerseys will line up at the Tour de France.

The cycling calendar in July was dominated by two major events: the Giro d’Italia for Women and, of course, the Tour de France. The Giro was won by Elisa Longo Borghini, with Marlen Reusser and Sarah Gigante rounding out the podium.
The Tour de France promised fireworks with another clash of the titans between Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard. Despite an all-out effort from Team Visma | Lease a Bike and their Danish leader, Pogačar remained unshaken throughout and claimed his fourth Tour title in dominant fashion.

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot claimed victory in the biggest race of August, the Tour de France Femmes, with Demi Vollering and Katarzyna Niewiadoma joining her on the podium. In the men’s races, Giulio Ciccone triumphed at the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa, while Arnaud De Lie took the Renewi Tour after a close battle with Mathieu van der Poel.
Finally, home favourite Elise Chabbey won the Tour de Romandie Féminin, which was overshadowed by a much-discussed dispute between the UCI and several teams over GPS safety trackers.
Cycling results in September
The Vuelta a España was overshadowed by repeated protests, yet Jonas Vingegaard kept his composure to claim overall victory. In Britain, Romain Grégoire secured the Tour of Britain in Geraint Thomas’s farewell race. The World Championships in Kigali produced new rainbow jerseys: Remco Evenepoel and Marlen Reusser lived up to their favourite status in the time trials, before Tadej Pogačar and surprise winner Magdeleine Vallieres struck gold in the road races.
Cycling results in October
October closed the curtain on the season with a final flourish. In Lombardy, Tadej Pogačar underlined his dominance once again, claiming a fifth consecutive Il Lombardia title and adding the European Championship in France, both ahead of Remco Evenepoel.
