Cycling results in January
The season kicked off in Australia with the Tour Down Under. Jhonatan Narváez took the overall win and dominated Willunga Hill, while Sam Welsford sprinted to three stage victories, including the final in Adelaide. In the women’s race, Noemi Rüegg took the victory.
Cycling results in February
Tadej Pogačar claimed his third UAE Tour title with summit wins on Jebel Jais and Jebel Hafeet, while Tom Pidcock took overall victory at the Tour of Oman after a close battle with Valentin Paret-Peintre. . Fellow Tour de France contender Jonas Vingegaard opened his campaign with a GC win at the Volta ao Algarve.
Cycling results in March
Meanwhile in Belgium, the Spring Classics sparked into life. Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne marked the start of the cobbled campaign, with Søren Wærenskjold and Lotte Claes taking the wins in Omloop, and Jasper Phillipsen outsprinting the field to take Kuurne.
Tadej Pogačar delivered a solo masterclass to win Strade Bianche while Demi Vollering got rid off Anna van der Breggen on the Via Santa Caterina in Siena. Matteo Jorgenson claimed back-to-back victories at Paris–Nice, while Juan Ayuso secured the overall at Tirreno–Adriatico ahead of Filippo Ganna and Antonio Tiberi. Milan–San Remo went to Mathieu van der Poel in a hard-fought sprint against Ganna and Pogačar. In the women's race it was Lorena Wiebes who sprinted to victory.
Cycling results in April
The cobbled classics reached full intensity in April. Tadej Pogačar delivered a dominant performance in the Tour of Flanders, attacking on the Oude Kwaremont and soloing to victory ahead of Mads Pedersen and Mathieu van der Poel. In the women’s race, Lotte Kopecky repeated her brilliance, outsprinting Pauline Ferrand-Prévot to take the win.
A week later, Paris–Roubaix provided another historic day. Mathieu van der Poel claimed his third straight win on the Roubaix velodrome, mastering the cobbles. Mads Pedersen again joined him on the podium. In the women’s edition, France celebrated as Pauline Ferrand-Prévot became the first Frenchwoman to win Paris–Roubaix Femmes with a dominant solo ride.
The scene then shifted to the Ardennes. At Amstel Gold Race, Mattias Skjelmose surprised the favourites with a razor-thin sprint win over Pogačar and Evenepoel. In the women’s race, Mischa Bredewold surged clear on the Cauberg to take a powerful solo victory.
Midweek, Tadej Pogačar powered up the Mur de Huy to win La Flèche Wallonne, while Puck Pieterse claimed the women’s edition ahead of Demi Vollering. To close the spring classics, Pogačar sealed his third Liège–Bastogne–Liège title with a decisive move on La Redoute. Giulio Ciccone and Ben Healy completed the top three. In the women’s race, Kimberley Le Court made history by becoming the first African rider to win a Monument, crossing the line solo to take victory.
Cycling results in May
Jordi MeeusThe Giro d’Italia belonged to Simon Yates, who seized the maglia rosa with a showstopping attack on the Colle delle Finestre, supported by Wout van Aert’s descent work. Isaac del Toro secured second and the white jersey; Richard Carapaz rounded out the podium.
On the women’s side, the Vuelta a España Femenina set a powerful tone, with Demi Vollering taking the overall victory, joined on the podium by Marlen Reusser and Anna van der Breggen.
Cycling results in June
The Critérium du Dauphiné brought both clarity and questions ahead of the Tour, with Tadej Pogačar taking a dominant overall win ahead of Jonas Vingegaard.
Over in Switzerland, the Tour de Suisse delivered drama. In the men’s race, João Almeida lived up to his favourite status with a strong comeback after early time loss. In the women’s edition, Marlen Reusser edged out pre-race favourite Demi Vollering in a thrilling battle decided by seconds.
Elsewhere, the inaugural edition of the Copenhagen Sprint brought high-speed racing to the city centre, with Jordi Meeus and Lorena Wiebes taking the victories in front of packed crowds.
June also meant national pride - with a host of new champions crowned across Europe, fresh jerseys will line up at the Tour de France.
