Lidl-Trek
Lidl–Trek is an American UCI WorldTour professional cycling team based in Germany and managed by Luca Guercilena. Originally launched as Trek Factory Racing in 2014, the team became Trek–Segafredo before adopting its current name in 2023. The team combines strength in stage races with strong performances in one-day events.
Full official team name and common short name
The team's full official name is Lidl-Trek, commonly referred to as Lidl-Trek or simply Trek by fans and media.
Their team identifier is LTK.
Team category and status
Lidl-Trek competes as a UCI WorldTeam, the highest classification in professional men's road cycling. This status grants automatic entry to all WorldTour races and obligates the squad to start all three Grand Tours and five Monument classics each season.
Primary disciplines
The team concentrates on men's elite road racing, competing across all major race formats, including three-week Grand Tours, one-week stage races, single-day classics, and the prestigious Monument races. Select riders also compete in cyclocross during the winter months, maintaining a presence in the discipline.
Their strength is distributed across multiple disciplines, with capabilities in GC racing, sprint finishes, classics campaigns, and off-road racing with Thibau Nys.
Where is the country of registration and base location
The team is since 2026 registered in Germany (after being an American team for years) under the German cycling federation and operates with a global infrastructure, whilst leveraging Trek's American headquarters in Wisconsin for equipment development and testing.
Founding year and origin story
The team traces its roots to the US Postal Service team of the late 1990s and early 2000s, evolving through Discovery Channel (2005-2007), before a hiatus and rebirth as RadioShack (2010-2011), then RadioShack-Nissan-Trek (2012), RadioShack-Leopard (2013), and Trek Factory Racing (2014-2018).
The team became Trek-Segafredo in 2019 when Italian coffee company Segafredo joined as co-sponsor, before German supermarket giant Lidl replaced Segafredo as title sponsor for the 2024 season, creating the current Lidl-Trek identity.
Current title sponsor and key partners
German supermarket chain Lidl serves as title sponsor, with American bicycle manufacturer Trek providing bikes and leveraging its ownership stake in the team. Trek supplies the Madone SLR aero road bikes, Domane SLR for rough roads, and Speed Concept SLR for time trials.
SRAM provides Red AXS wireless electronic groupsets, Bontrager (Trek's component brand) manufactures the Aeolus RSL carbon wheels, Pirelli furnishes P Zero Race tubeless tyres, and Bontrager supplies saddles, clothing, helmets, and accessories, creating a fully integrated Trek-Bontrager ecosystem.
Key achievements
The team's modern era achievements include Jasper Stuyven's 2021 Milan-San Remo victory, one of cycling's most prestigious Monument wins. Mads Pedersen claimed the 2019 World Championship road race title whilst riding for Trek-Segafredo, adding the rainbow jersey to the team's palmares.
The squad has accumulated multiple stage wins at all three Grand Tours, with notable performances including Giulio Ciccone's mountains classification at the 2019 Giro d'Italia and Bauke Mollema's stage victories and top ten GC finishes across multiple Grand Tours.
The team has secured stages at the Tour de France through riders like Jonathan Milan, Mads Pedersen and Jasper Stuyven, whilst also collecting wins at prestigious one-week races including Tour de Suisse and Critérium du Dauphiné.
In 2025, Lidl-Trek became the first team in history to win the points classification jersey at all three Grand Tours in the same season. That same year, Mattias Skjelmose won the Amstel Gold Race after a thrilling battle with Tadej Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel.

Notable riders on the 2026 Lidl-Trek roster
The 2026 roster features a balanced mix of GC contenders, sprinters, and classics specialists. British rider Tao Geoghegan Hart, the 2020 Giro d'Italia champion, provides proven Grand Tour-winning credentials and stage-hunting ability.

With Jonathan Milan, Lidl-Trek has a second world class sprinter next to Pedersen.
American Quinn Simmons provides punchy one-day racing ability and developing stage race potential, while the signing of Derek Gee-West gives Lidl-Trek even more opportunities in the Grand Tours GC's.
Lidl-Trek can also count on Mattias Skjelmose, Toms Skujiņš and Thibau Nys to deliver results in one day races and stage races, while Albert Withen Philipsen gives the team one of the most exciting young talents in the peloton.
The depth of this roster means Lidl-Trek should be in contention for top results in almost every race they target in 2026.
