2026 Objectives

Caja Rural Seguros RGA enters its first Tour de France with the ambition to animate the race and compete for a stage victory. The team is expected to focus on breakaways and selected sprint opportunities rather than the general classification.

Fernando Gaviria will be the key rider on the flatter days. His speed and Grand Tour experience give the Spanish team a realistic chance of success in the sprints.

Joel Nicolau and Jakub Otruba add further options for attacking racing. Securing a stage win would represent a landmark achievement in the team’s debut appearance.

🇳🇱 Alex Molenaar (26): The Dutchman will make his Tour debut following two previous appearances at the Vuelta a España. Molenaar is underrated when it comes to the hills, having finished tenth at Brabantse Pijl and 20th at the Amstel Gold Race.

🇪🇸 Joel Nicolau (28): Nicolau will line up with confidence in his form, having finished seventh overall at the recent Tour of Slovenia, taking three top ten stage finishes. The 28-year-old has raced the Vuelta twice previously, but like most in the team, this will mark his Tour debut.

🇪🇸 José Félix Parra (29): Parra showcased that he is one of the strongest climbers in the squad by finishing ninth overall at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône Alpes. The 29-year-old climber finished 17th at the Vuelta in 2024, and a top 20 finish overall at the Tour could be on the cards, though Parra may also try to feature in breakaways on mountain stages during his Tour debut.

🇨🇴 Fernando Gaviria (31): The Colombian fast-man has by far and away the most Tour experience in the Caja Rural Tour squad. Gaviria is a two-time former stage winner and even wore the yellow jersey in 2018. While he is no longer at the peak of his powers, Gaviria will still expect to be in the mix in the sprints, and he often launches his sprint early, so it's likely the Colombian will play his part in the finale of a fast, chaotic stage.

🇮🇹 Stefano Oldani (28): A versatile talent who previously tasted success with a breakaway stage win at the 2022 Giro d'Italia, Oldani is the perfect tactical rider for this squad. He thrives on rolling terrain and can navigate technical finishes, making him a primary candidate to hunt stages from opportunistic, medium-mountain breaks

🇪🇸 Abel Balderstone (25): A rising talent within the Spanish cycling scene, Balderstone makes his debut at the Tour de France. He is a tenacious climber who has shown consistent growth over the last two seasons, and his role will be to assist the team's mountain specialists and gain experience in the peloton.

🇨🇿 Jakub Otruba (28): The Czech rider provides the squad with strength on the flat and rolling transition stages. Otruba is an intelligent, tactically astute rider who understands how to position the team's sprinters and keep them protected.

🇦🇺 Sebastian Berwick (26): The Australian climber is a vital engine for the team in the high mountains. Known for his engine on ascents, Berwick is tasked with supporting the team’s leaders in the Alps and Pyrenees while also acting as a bridge-rider who can help them secure representation in the day's breakaway
