He explains why a general manager with fifty riders under contract looks at a descent differently, why covering every tree is impossible, and why organisers should face the same fines and red cards that teams and riders do. He has taken phone calls from parents asking whether the sport is safe for their sons, and says those calls come before anything happens rather than after.

He is also candid about where the sport's money comes from and where it needs to come from next, from hospitality on circuit races to the argument for a criterium world championship, and why a five-hour race from A to B is a hard sell to a generation that will not sit through a thirty-second video.

On equipment, he compares the kit he raced in at Crédit Agricole with what the peloton uses now, and explains why the biggest aerodynamic gain has been rider position rather than the bike. He also thinks helmets are not good enough, while acknowledging riders still have to breathe.

Then Uno-X. Hushovd describes the phone call from Vegar Kulset that he did not see coming, why the men's team is exclusively Norwegian and Danish and the women's team is not yet, and what the plan is to change that. He says new signings are coming, and that some of them are big names.
