Pinarello-Q36.5 2026 Tour de France team guide: Pidcock leads Proteam into debut Tour

The Swiss Proteam rode the Giro and Vuelta last year and secured a third-place finish at the latter with Tom Pidcock. Now, Pinarello Q36.5 and Pidcock are ready to make their mark at the Tour de France. Here's a look at who will line up for Pinarello-Q36.5 at the 2026 Tour de France.

2026 Objectives:

Tom Pidcock will lead the Swiss Proteam in their first Tour de France, after finishing third overall at the Vuelta a España last season.

The team also features a strong core of stage hunters, including British Champion Fred Wright and 2025 Giro d'Italia stage winner Chris Harper, which will allow Pinarello-Q36.5 to race aggressively while also supporting the ambitions of Pidcock.

"We come with a group that combines experience, versatility and the mindset we want to race with. Our approach is simple we’ll race proactively, look for opportunities every day and make sure we’re present throughout all three weeks," said Douglas Ryder, Team Principal of Pinarello-Q36.5.

🇬🇧 Tom Pidcock (26): Pidcock made the bold decision to join and lead the ProTeam outfit for 2025, and thus missed the Tour de France last summer. However, the British multi-discipline star would go on to finish third at the Vuelta, a maiden Grand Tour podium finish. The form and confidence from a strong debut campaign with the team were carried into 2025, with Pidcock winning a stage of the Ruta Del Sol. This was followed up with a victory at Milano-Torino, before one of the best performances of his career, narrowly missing out on winning Milan-Sanremo after sprinting to second behind Tadej Pogačar. A ravine crash at the Volta a Catalunya threatened to derail his campaign, but Pidcock bounced back with a win at the Tour of the Alps. Illness then forced Pidcock to miss the Tour de Suisse, but he opted to race the Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica, where he was victorious. The 26-year-old hasn't yet had an opportunity this season to showcase his form in the mountains, making him unpredictable heading into July, but that makes the prospect of Pidcock even more exciting than usual.

🇧🇪 Quinten Hermans (30): Pidcock isn't the only multi-discipline star in the team, as Quinten Hermans lines up for his second Tour de France, and first since 2022. The 30-year-old Belgian, a former runner-up of Liège-Bastogne-Liège, could look to infiltrate breakaways and will be in good spirits after finishing fifth overall at the Baloise Belgium Tour.

🇧🇪 Xandro Meurisse (34): The 34-year-old Belgian lines up for his sixth Grand Tour, and fourth lap of France. Meurisse came mightily close to taking his first victory for almost half a decade, where he was outsprinted by Jhonatan Narváez after the duo held off the breakaway on stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse.

🇪🇸 Xabier Mikel Azparren (27): The 27-year-old Azparren has four Grand Tours' worth of experience and rode both the Giro and Vuelta for the Swiss team last season. This season, Azparren featured in the breakaway at the Amstel Gold Race and also on the final stage of Tirreno-Adriatico.

🇬🇧 Fred Wright (27): The recently crowned British Champion is lining up for his sixth consecutive Tour de France. In most of those editions, Wright has been active in breakaways, hunting for an elusive Tour stage win, having come closest in 2022 with a second-place finish. This season has seen Wright compete in the Classics and, most recently, the Tour de Suisse, where he featured in the breakaway on the second stage.

🇧🇪 Brent Van Moer (28): The Belgian breakaway specialist claimed his only professional victory on French soil when he won the opening stage of the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in 2021. Van Moer is lining up for his fifth Tour in six years, and like most other editions, we can expect to see the Belgian animating the race in a breakaway on occasion.

🇦🇺 Chris Harper (31): The former Giro stage winner is one of a number of accomplished climbers in the team who could make their mark from a breakaway, in what will be his third Tour de France. Harper was combative at the recent Giro, where he ultimately finished 17th overall.

🇦🇺 Damien Howson (33): Another experienced Australian climber is 33-year-old Howson, who returns to the Tour de France for the first time since 2018. Howson has a wealth of Grand Tour experience, with the 2026 Tour set to be his thirteenth three week race.
