LIVE: 2026 Giro d'Italia Stage 7: Vingegaard to pass first mountain test?
Giro d'Italia - Stage 7
The 2026 Giro d'Italia hits its first major mountain test on Friday, with stage 7 between Formia and Blockhaus the longest day of the race at 244km and the first summit finish of the three weeks. The route starts on the Tyrrhenian coast and heads inland across central Italy, taking in the category 2 Roccaraso (6.9km at 6.5%) and the Passo San Leonardo before the day's main event, the legendary Blockhaus (13.6km at 8.4%, with pitches up to 14% in the middle). Last climbed at the Giro in 2022, when Jai Hindley took the stage on his way to overall victory, Blockhaus has a habit of producing the first real GC reshuffle. Stage 7 is set to roll out at 11:35 CET.
