Movistar fear wrist fracture as Uijtdebroeks heads to hospital after Valenciana crash
Cian Uijtdebroeks (Movistar) was involved in a crash on stage 3 of the Volta Comunitat Valenciana with around 50km to go, which was ultimately won by AJ August (Ineos Grenadiers), and the Belgian was spotted entering an ambulance post-race.

The 22-year-old Belgian, who is participating in his debut race for new team Movistar, was among those involved in a crash on the run-in to San Vicente del Raspeig with around 50km remaining.
The crash also involved his teammate Iván Romeo (Movistar) and Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe).
All three riders were able to continue the stage, and Uijtdebroeks finished in 113th place, ten minutes behind the stage winner, August.
After crossing the finish line, Uijtdebroeks was spotted getting into an ambulance and told Sporza that “I feel something in my hand.”
With his left arm tightly wrapped, Uijtdebroeks was able to leave the ambulance again to head to the hospital for a scan.
“After the crash, Cian could no longer hold his handlebars because of pain in his left wrist and left elbow,” said Movistar team director Jurgen Roelandts to HLN. “We’re having X-rays taken at the hospital now, but we fear there may be a small fracture in the wrist.”
