'If he were ever to leave, it would be for Uno-X' - Cort suggests Vingegaard would only consider one team if he left Visma
Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) has revealed that his compatriot Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) has said he would only consider leaving his current team for the Scandinavian side.

In a recent interview with ViaPlay, Cort stated that while the prospect of a move in the future remains slim, given the fact that Vingegaard is well settled at Visma, the door isn't entirely closed.
“He always says that if he were ever to leave Visma, it would be for Uno-X. So it’s not completely impossible, but it probably won’t be easy,” Cort told ViaPlay.
Signing Vingegaard, a three-time Grand Tour champion, would represent a massive leap for the team, though, as Cort mentioned, the realities behind putting a deal together in the future remain distant.
While the prospect of landing Vingegaard remains distant, Cort’s own arrival at the team in 2024 already demonstrated Uno-X’s growing ambition on the transfer market.
Cort joined the Scandinavian team in 2024 as a nine-time Grand Tour stage winner and with 26 professional victories. The Dane has since added another nine victories, with two coming at WorldTour level, most recently stage 2 at the Volta a Catalunya this March.
Cort’s success reflects the increasing competitiveness of Uno-X, which earned WorldTour status for 2026 with a squad built around a distinct Scandinavian identity. The team’s strictly Danish and Norwegian roster policy has been both a strength and a point of discussion.
Speaking on the Domestique Hotseat in January, the recently retired Alexander Kristoff, who spent the final season of his career with the team, suggested that Uno-X's policy of only Danish and Norwegian riders for the men's team makes it somewhat easier for natives to turn professional.
But also the fact that it drives up the market value of riders from either nation in terms of potential transfer because of the supply and demand.
“The price on the good ones will be higher because there is high demand. They know Uno-X needs them because they are maybe the only choice they have for this type of race, for example, and then they will get paid,” said Kristoff.
That same Scandinavian focus also influences the team’s long-term transfer strategy, as highlighted by team manager Thor Hushovd.
With the Scandinavian link, former World Champion Hushovd has been frequently asked about the prospect of signing one of Scandinavia's biggest stars in the future, whether that be Vingegaard or Mads Pedersen.
Speaking to Dagbladet last October, Hushovd was asked about said prospect, and he stressed that the timing would having to be perfect.
“If something like that were to ever happen, the timing would have to be right," said Hushovd.
He also admitted that Pedersen is someone he would love to sign in the future. “I can say that Mads Pedersen is my dream rider. I love the way he races, a bit like I used to, maybe that’s why I’m biased,” said Hushovd.
While Uno-X’s rapid rise continues, both Cort and Hushovd remain realistic about the current prospect of signing a rider of Vingegaard's calibre. The Dane is well settled at Visma | Lease a Bike, and any future move would likely depend on contract situations, team dynamics, and the right moment for all parties.
