Léo Bisiaux takes a first ever pro win at Vuelta Burgos
Stage 3 of the 2025 Vuelta Burgos was a 184.1 kilometre stage from Monasterio de San Pedro de Cardeña to Valpuesta which featured 2624 metres of elevation gain across the stage with the category one climb, Puerto de Orduña 8.1km à 7.4% located 20 kilometres from the finish.

Stage 3 was an attacking one from the very beginning with Gorka Sorarrain (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Sander De Pestel (Decathlon AG2R), Daniel Cavia (Burgos Burpellet BH), Hugo Aznar (Equipo Kern Pharma), Mario Silva (Illes Balears - Arabay) and Iker Mintegi (Euskaltel - Euskadi) going clear of the peloton. That peloton throughout the stage was then lead by Lidl-Trek for their race leader, Giulio Ciccone, who had his chances at a victory on stage one taken away in an unfortunate incident with Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates -XRG).
36 kilometres from the finish, Mikel Landa (Soudal-QuickStep) had a brief moment escaping off the front of the peloton, where Landa was then caught by the Lidl-Trek lead peloton just 8 kilometres later.
The pace was rampant as the riders approached the foot of the Puerto de Orduña, with just 30 riders remaining within the peloton. Just as the climb began, it was the man in form, Ciccone who took off on an attempt to secure a solo victory, but he was soon joined by the 20 year-old Léo Bisiaux (Decathlon AG2R) with a cohort of riders soon joining. The front group after the descent featured Del Toro, Ciccone, Bisiaux, Giulio Pellizzari, and Lorenzo Fortunato with the group obtaining a 34 second advantage over a group of 11 behind.
Léo Bisiaux attacked in the final 1.7 kilometres and that attack proved enough to take his first ever professional win ahead of Giulio Ciccone. Bisiaux's most notable victory prior to this, came off the road scene, as he was the Junior world champion at the 2023 UCI Cyclocross world championships in Hoogerheide.
