Paul Seixas will start final stage of the Dauphiné: 'We don't give up!'
Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM) will take part on Sunday in the final stage of the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, formerly known as the Critérium du Dauphiné, despite Saturday’s heavy crash.

The 19-year-old Frenchman confirmed the news when he arrived at the team bus, where he appeared in good spirits, spoke to fans and took the time to pose for photos.
When asked whether he would start the stage, he replied: “Always. We don't give up!”
Seixas currently sits fifth in the general classification, 1 minute and 54 seconds behind race leader Luke Tuckwell. Matteo Jorgenson, Isaac Del Toro and Juan Ayuso are also ahead of him in the standings.
After yesterday’s heavy crash and his spectacular chase back to the peloton, during which he made up a four minute deficit, Seixas had already played down the extent of his injuries.
“I’ve got a few grazes, but nothing serious, so that’s the main thing,” he said. “Of course, I was in pain throughout the stage, but the hardest part was really my hands. It was very difficult to grip the handlebars, and I couldn’t brake as late as the others on the descents.”
Today, Seixas faces a short but demanding 120 kilometre stage, featuring two category one climbs and two hors catégorie ascents. Those climbs will ultimately decide who succeeds Tadej Pogačar as the winner of the Dauphiné.
