Pogacar returns to the road on final day in rainbow jersey
Tadej Pogacar shared images and videos as he returned to outdoor riding in what is his final full day of his two-year spell as world champion.

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) has shared his latest update on his road to recovery following his season-ending crash at the Vuelta a España in August.
On Saturday evening, Pogačar posted a series of images and videos to Instagram with the caption: “First day back, last day with rainbow.”
Saturday marks Pogačar's final full day of his two-year spell as World Champion, after being ruled out of Sunday’s road race in Montréal.
Pogačar’s previous post on 15 September showed the Slovenian back on his indoor trainer, but this latest update confirms that he is back riding on the road alongside Urška Žigart (AG Insurance-Soudal), his partner, who was also ruled out of the Worlds.
Eddie Dunbar (Pinarello-Q36.5) also featured in the post following his topsy-turvy Vuelta a España. The Irishman claimed his third career-stage victory at the Spanish Grand Tour on stage 19, before crashing out the following stage with a broken collarbone.
One of the videos shows Pogačar and Dunbar comparing the strikingly similar fractured collarbone scars alongside Gladys Verhulst-Wild (AG Insurance-Soudal), who also suffered the same injury during a crash on the opening stage of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women in mid-August.
Alongside a fractured collarbone, Pogačar was also diagnosed with a concussion, a stable C7 cervical fracture, and multiple abrasions, following his Vuelta crash.
In addition to losing the rainbow jersey, Pogačar is also set to lose the rarely seen European stripes, as he is also set to be unable to defend his title on home soil in Slovenia next Sunday.
