Overview results 2025 UCI Road World Championships

The 2025 UCI Road World Championships are underway in Rwanda, the first edition ever on African soil. Kigali provides the stage for new champions and here we bring together all riders who claim the rainbow jersey.

Cor Vos

Marlen Reusser – Elite women’s ITT
After three previous podiums, Reusser finally claimed her long-awaited rainbow jersey with a flawless effort. She finished 51 seconds ahead of Van der Breggen to secure Switzerland’s first gold in Rwanda.

Remco Evenepoel – Elite men’s ITT
Evenepoel crushed the demanding 40.6 km course in Kigali, overtaking Pogačar on his way to a third consecutive world title. His performance ranks among the most impressive time trials in recent history.

Zoe Bäckstedt – U23 women’s ITT
Bäckstedt lived up to her billing as favourite with a victory on the 22.6 km course, finishing no less than 1:51 ahead of Viktória Chladoňová. The Briton adds another rainbow jersey to her growing multi-discipline collection.

Jakob Söderqvist – U23 men’s ITT
Söderqvist confirmed his status with a superb ride over 31.2 km in Kigali, taking gold 1:04 clear of Nate Pringle. Maxime Decomble completed the podium in third, less than a second off silver.

Megan Arens – Junior women’s ITT
Arens stormed to the junior women’s title with a strong 18.3 km effort, finishing 35 seconds clear of Paula Ortiz. Norway’s Oda Aune Gissinger rounded out the podium in third.

Australia – Mixed relay TTT
Australia retained their mixed relay crown in Kigali, holding off France by five seconds to secure back-to-back world titles. Switzerland, hampered by a bike change for Reusser, settled for bronze at 10 seconds.

Harry Hudson – Junior men’s road race
Hudson became the first Briton to win the junior men’s road race with a decisive solo move 36 km from the finish. He maintained his advantage on the streets of Kigali to take a historic victory, with Blanc securing silver ahead of Jackowiak. Teammates Hinds and Peace added to the success in fourth and fifth.

Lorenzo Finn – U23 men’s road race
Finn claimed the under-23 world title at just 18 years old, attacking on the final ascent of the Côte de Kimihurura to drop Huber and ride solo to gold in Kigali. The Swiss rider secured silver, while Schrettl distanced his rivals to take bron.

Magdeleine Vallieres – Elite women’s road race
Vallieres delivered a shock victory in Kigali, dropping her breakaway companions on the cobbled Côte de Kimihurura to take only the second win of her career. Fisher-Black secured silver for New Zealand, while García claimed bronze for Spain. Reusser and Vollering were left behind as the pre-race favourites failed to make an impact.

Tadej Pogačar -  Elite men's road race
Tadej Pogačar retained his world title in Kigali with another long-range solo attack, going clear on Mont Kigali with 104km to race and riding the final 66km alone. Remco Evenepoel salvaged silver at 1:28 after bike troubles, while Ben Healy secured bronze ahead of Mattias Skjelmose. For the second year running, Pogačar turned the World Championships road race into a show of dominance.
