Tadej Pogacar outranks 9 WorldTour teams in 2026 UCI ranking

Tadej Pogačar’s 2025 season was so dominant that his individual UCI points total would place him ahead of nine WorldTour teams in the final 2026 ranking. The Slovenian collected 11,680 UCI points this year, enough to earn a spot inside the WorldTour top 10.

In a hypothetical team classification, Pogačar would sit just behind Alpecin-Deceuninck but ahead of Bahrain Victorious, EF Education–EasyPost, Movistar Team, Jayco AlUla, Picnic PostNL, Groupama–FDJ, Arkéa–B&B Hotels and Intermarché–Wanty.

The Slovenian capped a historic season, winning almost every major race he entered, including the Tour de France, the World Championships road race, the European Championships and three Monuments: the Tour of Flanders, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Il Lombardia.

It was a campaign that confirmed his supremacy across every terrain and format, from cobbles to mountains, against rivals who could only compete for second place. In the final UCI individual ranking, Pogačar’s total was nearly double that of Jonas Vingegaard, whose 5,944 points amount to just 50.9 percent of the Slovenian’s score, a new record since the UCI ranking was introduced in 1984, surpassing the previous mark set in 2024 when Pogačar outscored Remco Evenepoel by 52.1 percent according to journalist Jonas Creteur.

Only twice before had the runner-up finished below 60 percent of the leader’s total: Gianni Bugno over Claudio Chiappucci in 1990 and Sean Kelly over Greg LeMond in 1986.

Since 2020, only three riders have appeared in the UCI’s top ten every year: Pogačar, Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel. None, however, have done so with the same consistency and breadth of dominance as the 26-year-old Slovenian, who ends 2025 as the world’s number one for the fifth consecutive season.

Pogačar’s team, UAE Team Emirates-XRG, topped the UCI team ranking for the third year in a row. Their historic 2025 campaign, featuring 95 victories, saw them finish with almost twice as many points as runner-up Visma | Lease a Bike. Even without Pogačar’s individual contribution, UAE would still have led the standings by a wide margin, underlining the scale of their current dominance.
